Dr. Shiao was a wonderful human being. As a professor she challenged me on countless occasions to be my best. After I became a faculty member at SMU I sought her out to celebrate, only to hear of her health challenges. I so looked forward to talking with her about music. She will be treasured and missed greatly. My condolences.
