“The loss is immeasurable,
— unknown
but so is the love left behind.”
Dear Scott and family. Ling was superbly intelligent and gracious. During her years at Penn State, my most vivid memory is when she told me about her childhood in China during the Cultural Revolution. One of her earliest memories was being hungry. In our MA program, she wrote an exceptional thesis on Chinese intellectuals. She shared her warmth with my children. Of all things, my daughter and I were lucky enough to share a meal with you and Ling in Florence on your honeymoon. She was a bright and courageous presence in the world. My sadness is matched by my profound admiration and love of Ling.
